Value isn’t only shading, it is also the degrees to which darks and lights can be seen on an object. In this workshop, students will draw a still life on black paper using white pencils to practice rending lighter values. By drawing white on black versus the typical black on white, students will learn to see lights and not just darks. This skill will help them in future drawings to be able to identify the range of values within lights and darks. All materials are included.
